Hi Im Bryanna,

I’m a soprano, multi-disciplinary artist, and voice teacher based in Ottawa, Ontario I have been singing for as long as I can remember. It became clear to me from a young age that I would never want to stop learning as much as I can about music.

My creative practice is driven by a desire to explore different forms of expression and to continually develop new ways of communicating ideas, stories and experiences.

Performing has always given me a deep sense of connection to humanity. I am constantly reminded that beneath our individual experiences, we share so many of the same emotions, desires, fears, joys and struggles. Opera allows me to step into lives that may be completely different from my own while still finding something deeply familiar within them. The ability to connect with another persons experience, and discover new facets of myself while also connecting to an audience is one of the things I find most meaningful about being an artist.

A vessel for unrestrained acts of self expression

Alongside my performance career, I create handmade art, working with natural materials and develop original pieces sold through my shop, Violets Garden. The pieces I create, feel like physical extensions of myself; small, tangible expressions of the things I find beautiful and interesting.

I also create digital stories and document my experiences. The digital space allows me observe and preserve the world around me as I experience it. I am drawn to the fleeting and ordinary; details that are easy to overlook, but when captured, feel profoundly meaningful. My videos are an attempt to collect these fragments of life and share them as they are.
